Chawan, made by Mr. Ree, Soo Jong (my third one)

8,5 x 14,5 cm

(Ree, Soo Jong, Korea, 2003-2004)

It came to me on Christmas 2004 and stands just for itself - no name appears yet, but might come when I'm not thinking about it.

Nevertheless, some common things can be said already: It's Korean ido ware, not only the form, but also the Korean clay, glaze, potter.
The clay is very light, sandy, rough, and takes in the tea like a sponge. It feels very soft and light in my hands.

More information about contemporay ido ware (but from a Japanese point of view) can be found here.
